Shaftesbury’s response to COVID-19
Shaftesbury is committed to supporting our commercial occupiers and residents through this period of unprecedented upheaval in normal patterns of life and business activity which is likely to continue for some time and we are helping our occupiers with a range of solutions on a case by case basis. The ability of our commercial tenants to resume trading when current restrictions are gradually relaxed, and the safety of those residents and those who visit our villages, are our priority.
Shaftesbury has also set up a Community fund to support Shaftesbury’s community partners and local not-for-profit organisations to help people affected by COVID-19 within the boroughs of Westminster and Camden.
The fund, which will provide support totalling £144,000, is in addition to the Company's regular support for charities and other not for profit organisations, which in the last financial year totalled £820,000. Funding for this initiative comes from savings made following Shaftesbury Board’s decision to waive 20% of executive director base salaries and pension contributions and non-executive director fees for the three months from 1 April 2020.
