St Martin's Courtyard,
Covent Garden
Longmartin Properties Limited is 50% owned by Shaftesbury PLC, and has a long leasehold interest in the island site of almost two acres bounded by St Martin’s Lane, Long Acre, Shelton Street and Mercer Street. A major redevelopment of part of the site, to be known as St Martin’s Courtyard, is now underway.
The scheme is due for completion in Summer 2010 and will offer 21 new retail outlets totaling 63,000 sq.ft. and a choice of restaurants and bars totalling 29,000 sq.ft. Included in the mix will be 69,000 sq.ft. of premium office space and 37 apartments.
The main entrance into St Martin’s Courtyard will be from Long Acre along Slingsby Place, with two additional entrances on Upper St. Martin’s Lane and Mercer Street.
The first phase of the scheme will provide three retail units fronting Long Acre, which are now complete. There will be an additional five enhanced stores on Long Acre. The main inner courtyard will be a space for the public to relax and enjoy alfresco dining served from adjoining restaurants.
